David Ladov Honored with the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Award
David Ladov was named the 2021 Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Family Law Section Eric Turner Memorial Award winner. He was presented with the award during the section’s virtual Summer Meeting, July 15-16, 2021.
The Eric Turner Memorial Award honors a lawyer who is dedicated to the practice of family law and who serves as a mentor and teacher to fellow lawyers.
As part of the award, a $1,000 donation can be made to up to two charities of the honoree’s choosing. David has selected: the Montgomery Child Advocacy Project, an organization that aims to end and prevent child abuse and neglect in Montgomery County through legal services, advocacy, and education; and Society Hill Synagogue’s Food Insecurity Initiative, which raises funds to help stock local community fridges and pantries in Philadelphia.
David is a partner and chair of Obermayer’s Family Law Practice Group. He has over 40 years of experience in family law matters, primarily in the five-county region of Eastern Pennsylvania. As a highly skilled and respected divorce attorney, he has extensive experience in handling complex equitable distribution matters, custody cases for both mothers and fathers, including relocation, child, and spousal support cases for high-wealth families, and protection from abuse matters for abused children and spouses.
David’s years of family law experience mean that he has seen hundreds of different familial situations, and he focuses on sharing that knowledge with each new client to help them better understand and handle their own unique personal situation.
David is a frequent lecturer for the PBI and was the course planner for the largest attended Pennsylvania family law seminar for 18 years – Family Law Update. He has lectured on a wide range of topics, from custody relocation to business valuation for both the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) and local county bar associations and area law schools. In addition, David is a former President of the PBA Family Law Section, a Fellow with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), and former President of the AAML Pennsylvania chapter. David is a Past Chair and member of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court Domestic Relations Procedural Rules Committee, a past member of the PBA House of Delegates, and a current member of the Joint State Government Commission on Domestic Relations Law. David is the Editor of “Slicing Up The Pie: Property Distribution in Pennsylvania”, PBI Press, 2010, 2nd Edition 2012, 3rd Edition 2016.
