Diane Zabowski to Present at Philadelphia Bar Association’s Elder Law and Guardianship Committee Meeting
Trusts and estates partner Diane Zabowski will be presenting at the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Elder Law and Guardianship Committee meeting of the Probate and Trust Law Section on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. Diane will discuss the decision of Berry v. Berry, 2018 PA Super 276 (10/11/2018), which held that an agent under a durable power of attorney cannot prosecute or defend a divorce action on behalf of an incapacitated principal.
Diane is an experienced orphans’ court litigator who has litigated more than 300 cases and served clients in Montgomery, Chester, Berks, and Bucks Counties. She has served as a court-appointed counsel in incapacity and termination of parental rights cases in Montgomery County and as a court-appointed counsel in incapacity cases in Chester County. Diane was appointed as a Substitute Mental Health Review Officer under the Mental Health Procedures Act in 2018. She has also testified as an expert witness in federal and state courts. She is a regular lecturer at bar associations, community programs, and paralegal programs.
