Hillary Moonay Presented at 2022 PBA Family Law Section Summer Meeting
Hillary Moonay, the co-chair of Obermayer’s Family Law Department, spoke at the plenary session of the Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Family Law Section Summer Meeting at Newport Marriott in
Newport, Rhode Island on Friday, July 15, 2022. Hillary’s panel, titled “Gag Orders in Child-Custody Litigation: Social Media and the Privacy Interests of Children,” focused on gag orders and the privacy interests of the child and answered important questions, such as:
- Can a family court judge direct custody litigants not to “deadname” their trans child?
- Can custody litigants be directed not to post about their case on social media?

Hillary is actively involved in numerous professional associations, including the Pennsylvania Bar Association, where she was just elected as the PBA Family Law Section Chair-Elect. She is a member of the Executive Committee and Council and is a member of the Rules Committee. She is also the former chairperson of the Section’s Programming and Rules Committees. Additionally, Hillary is currently the chairperson of the Bucks County Bar Association Family Law Section and a Co-Chair of the Programming Committee for the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Hillary also sits on the Board of Trustees of the Bucks County Bar Foundation, and is a member of the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court.
