Julie Colton Presents on Parenting Coordination

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Obermayer family law partner Julie Colton presented to the Children’s Issues Committee of the Allegheny County Bar Association Family Law Section on a panel titled “The Use of Parenting Coordinators in Custody Cases.”

Julie’s discussion focused on key aspects of Parenting Coordination, including the limitations on what issues Parenting Coordinators cannot decide, the process for objecting to a Parenting Coordinator’s Report and Recommendation, and the upcoming changes to the Parenting Coordination rule, set to take effect on April 1, 2025.

Julie’s practice is dedicated to family law, encompassing divorce, child custody, support, asset division, prenuptial agreements, and international custody matters. She also has extensive experience in family law mediation and collaborative law in the Pittsburgh area. In addition to her legal practice, Julie is an Adjunct Professor of family law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
