Julie Colton to Host Web-Based CLE on the Uniform Child Custody and Jurisdiction Enforcement Act

Partner Julie Colton is hosting a CLE for Celesq, a legal education hosting program, regarding the Uniform Child Custody and Jurisdiction Enforcement Act (UCCJEA). This class will be a web-based seminar that will be broadcast in multiple states on March 13, 2019.

The UCCJEA is legislation that determines which state has jurisdiction over, and therefore authority to make decisions for, a child in a custody case. This Act is especially common in cases of pending divorce, or if child custody between legal guardians has not been finalized before one party moves to another state.
