Mark Danek Secures Zoning Approval for Floodplain Development in Conshohocken

September 23, 2024

During a recent meeting of the Zoning Hearing Board for the Borough of Conshohocken, real estate partner Mark Danek secured approval for several zoning variances and a special exception to allow for a Wine Garden and Outdoor Activity Space, which includes Pickleball and Bocce courts, along the Schuylkill River Trail in Conshohocken.

The venue is located within Conshohocken’s Flood Plain Overlay District. As such, the applicant was required to demonstrate an “exceptional hardship” in order to secure approval for development within the floodplain. Mark Danek presented testimony from Cooper Winery owner Christina Pieri, as well as a Traffic Engineer and a Flood Plain Engineer.

Based on the testimony and exhibits presented during the hearing, the Zoning Hearing Board unanimously approved the development of the property in accordance with the evidence provided.
