Michael Bertin Elected President of Pennsylvania Chapter of American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers

Obermayer Partner, and Co-Chair of its Family Law Department, Michael E. Bertin was elected President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML), the preeminent national organization of family lawyers in the United States, at the Chapter’s meeting on July 11, 2024.  Bertin is a former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and a former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association.  He is a frequent author and lecturer on family law topics. Bertin was selected as the 2021 Lawyer of the Year for Family Law in Pennsylvania by the Best Lawyers in America.  Bertin is the co-author of the book Pennsylvania Child Custody Law, Practice, and Procedure, considered as the standard on child custody.  Bertin has a broad state-wide family law practice that includes the negotiation and litigation of all types of domestic relations cases, including divorce, custody, support, alimony, property distribution, prenuptial agreements, and related issues.
