Michael Bertin Inducted into Upper Dublin High School’s 2025 Alumni Hall of Fame

Michael Bertin, partner and co-chair of the Family Law Group at Obermayer, was inducted into Upper Dublin High School’s 2025 Alumni Hall of Fame on April 4, 2025. He is one of ten distinguished alumni honored for their exceptional accomplishments and contributions to their professions, communities, and the broader world.

A member of the Class of 1991, Michael was recognized in the Business & Law category for his leadership and impact in the field of family law. He is the current President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Michael is a former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and currently serves as co-chair of its Custody Committee. Michael is also a member of the Pennsylvania Joint State Government Commission Domestic Relations Advisory Committee which drafts proposed laws to its Task Force for presentation to the State Legislature.  He is a co-author of the state’s standard textbook on child custody law.  Michael was named the 2021 Lawyer of the Year for Family Law in Philadelphia and the eastern counties of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by The Best Lawyers In America. 

Notably, in 2018, Michael secured a landmark victory in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in Hanrahan v. Bakker, a unanimous decision that redefined high-income support law across the state.

The 2025 Alumni Hall of Fame honorees were announced by Principal Robert Schultz and Heidi Yutzler-Overton, President of the Upper Dublin Education Foundation, following a rigorous nomination and review process. The fifth Alumni Hall of Fame class was celebrated with a full day of events, allowing inductees to engage with students, faculty, and the Upper Dublin community.
