Michael Bertin Speaks with Local Students about Family Law
Michael Bertin, co-chair of Obermayer’s Family Law department, recently participated in two community speaking events with local students. On March 21, Michael spoke at Temple University Law School’s Child Custody class. Michael then joined students at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School on March 23 to speak at their Legal Systems class.
Michael is a former Chair of the Family Law Section of both the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Philadelphia Bar Association. He was selected as the 2021 Lawyer of the Year for Family Law in the Philadelphia region by the Best Lawyers in America and has published over one hundred articles. Bertin co-authored the book on Pennsylvania child custody law “Pennsylvania Child Custody Law, Practice, and Procedure”, used by judges and lawyers across the state as a reference. Bertin holds the officer position of Secretary of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML) and is the current Co-Chair of the Custody Committee of the Family Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association. Bertin has an active statewide family law practice and handles all phases of the negotiation and litigation of domestic relations cases, including divorce, custody, support, alimony, property distribution, prenuptial agreements, and related issues. Bertin also serves as chair of Obermayer’s Pro Bono Committee.
