Michael Bertin to be Inducted into Upper Dublin High School’s 2025 Alumni Hall of Fame for Distinguished Career in Family Law

Michael Bertin, partner, and co-chair of the Family Law Group at Obermayer, has been selected to be inducted into Upper Dublin High School’s 2025 Alumni Hall of Fame on April 4, 2025. Bertin is among 10 distinguished alumni recognized for their notable achievements and contributions to their professions, communities, and the world.

Michael (Class of ’91), honored in the Business & Law category, is a highly respected family law attorney in Pennsylvania. Michael is the current President of the Pennsylvania Chapter of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Michael is a former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, former Chair of the Family Law Section of the Philadelphia Bar Association, and currently serves as co-chair of its Custody Committee. Michael is also a member of the Pennsylvania Joint State Government Commission Domestic Relations Advisory Committee that drafts proposed laws to its Task Force for presentation to the State Legislature.  He is a co-author of the state’s standard textbook on child custody law.  Michael was named the 2021 Lawyer of the Year for Family Law in Philadelphia and the eastern counties of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania by The Best Lawyers In America.  In 2018, Michael won the historic Pennsylvania Supreme Court case of Hanrahan v. Bakker, by unanimous decision, a case that changed high-income support law in Pennsylvania, statewide.

Principal Robert Schultz and Heidi Yutzler-Overton, president of the Upper Dublin Education Foundation, announced the honorees following a rigorous nomination and review process. The fifth Alumni Hall of Fame class will be celebrated on April 4, 2025, with a full day of events allowing inductees to engage with students, faculty, and the broader Upper Dublin community.
