Obermayer Adds Business & Finance Partner
Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP adds partner Michael E. Hooper to the firm’s business & finance department. Hooper will practice in the firm’s Pittsburgh office, where he will continue to service his existing clients, primarily working on commercial transactions and large mineral title projects in multiple states for energy providers in connection with due diligence, sale and acquisition transactions group.
“We are excited for Michael to join the firm,” said Obermayer Managing Partner Mathieu Shapiro. “His practice will complement our existing commercial transactions practice and extend their capabilities. He’s also part of our strategic growth in the western half of the Commonwealth.”
Hooper focuses his practice on energy and real estate law, business transactions and formation – including those within the fields of oil and gas rights, titles and leasing, and banking, commercial real estate development and financing.
“I look forward to the opportunity to continue to serve and expand my client-base at Obermayer,” said Hooper. “The move affords me the chance to lead and grow a new practice for the firm – it’s an exciting endeavor for me.”
Prior to joining the firm, Hooper was a partner at a law firm in Wheeling, West Virginia, where he served as the land and natural resource development practice leader. He was also appointed by Gov. Tomblin as Commissioner for Volunteer West Virginia, The State’s Commission for National and Community Service and serves as its chairman.
