Obermayer Forms Lender Liability Practice Group
David A. Nasatir, Chair of the Business and Finance Department at Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP, and Nick Poduslenko, who heads the Construction Law Group, will now also serve as co-Chairs of the firm’s Lender Liability Group .
The Lender Liability and Workout Team is comprised of a multi-disciplinary group of attorneys from areas including front end lending, workouts, real estate, litigation and construction law. The group represents large and small banks, as well as other lenders, in handling both workout and collection matters, as well as defending claims filed against them.
“In the current economic climate banks and other financial institutions need to be vigilant in guarding against financial loss due to claims of fraud, negligence, bad faith, breach of contract and fiduciary duty, tortious interference and other issues filed against them by borrowers,” said Nasatir. “Our team of attorneys helps clients take precautions to minimize their exposure to risk.”
Nasatir practices in the areas of corporate real estate and finance. He has served on the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and currently serves on the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors and the Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority. Previously, he was a member of the Delaware Valley Regional Finance Authority and Montgomery County Development Corporation Board of Directors.
Poduslenko practices in the areas of complex commercial disputes, construction law, alternative dispute resolution and workouts and creditors’ rights. He represents banks and financial institutions in foreclosure proceedings and debt collections. He also handles workouts of complex financing projects for banks.
