Diane M. Zabowski

Conshohocken orphans’ court litigator

Diane is a partner in Obermayer’s Trusts & Estates practice. She is an experienced trial attorney who has litigated more than 300 cases and served clients in Montgomery, Chester, Berks, and Bucks Counties.

Diane concentrates her practice on orphans’ court litigation, adult guardianship cases, estate planning, and estate administration. She takes pride in serving as an advocate for vulnerable people who are not able to articulate what they need. Helping people solve problems is what she enjoys most about practicing law.

Outside of the office, Diane enjoys golfing, visiting museums, trying new restaurants, and digging into a mystery novel.

Prior to joining Obermayer, Diane founded and led Zabowski Law, a law firm concentrated in orphans’ court litigation, estate administration, and family law. She has litigated more than 300 cases over the past 30 years.

Diane has served as a court-appointed counsel in incapacity and termination of parental rights cases in Montgomery County and as a court-appointed counsel in incapacity cases in Chester County. She was appointed as a Substitute Mental Health Review Officer under the Mental Health Procedures Act in 2018.

Diane has also testified as an expert witness in federal and state courts. She is a regular lecturer at bar associations, community programs, and paralegal programs.

Diane is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and Montgomery Bar Association –Probate and Tax Section of the Orphans’ Court Committee. She also served as a barrister with the Doris Jonas Freed American Inn of Court.

Diane has a strong commitment to serving the needs of the community. She served as a solicitor for the Tri County YWCA and the Limerick Township Zoning Hearing Board. Diane is also a volunteer attorney with Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania and a member of the Montgomery County Elder Access to Justice Roundtable Committee.

In 2005, she was honored with the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Pro Bono Award.
