Jean is an attorney in Obermayer’s Litigation Department, focusing her practice on commercial litigation, construction litigation, alternative dispute resolution (ADR), insurance, and appellate matters. She represents business owners, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, financial service providers, and international businesses.
Jean is passionate about advocating for her clients and developing strategic solutions to address their most complex challenges. As an effective communicator, she takes the time to understand her clients’ businesses, concerns, and goals. By gaining deep insight into their needs, Jean provides tailored legal solutions that align with their legal and business objectives.
Outside of her legal practice, Jean enjoys exploring Philadelphia and trying new restaurants with her husband and friends. During the summer, she can often be found at the Jersey Shore, playing golf and pickleball, biking to the beach, and enjoying a swim in the bay.
Jean has extensive experience litigating general liability actions, including premises liability, construction defect, personal injury, and property damage cases. She handles civil defense matters through all stages of litigation, including fact analysis and investigation, drafting pleadings and motions, taking/defending depositions, performing legal research, attending hearings and mediations, negotiating settlement agreements, and preparing and for trial.
Some of Jean’s most notable accomplishments include:
- Sat second chair at a premises liability trial.
- Negotiated countless favorable settlement for clients.
- Led internal investigations into harassment, conflicts between employees, and discrimination at a Philadelphia area private college.
- Earned a defense verdict in the Philadelphia Arbitration Center.
During law school, Jean served as a Law School Ambassador and participated in the Civil Justice Clinic, where she provides pro bono legal services to low-income people in the Philadelphia area. Jean earned her B.A. in Strategic Communications at Temple University.
