Bill is a partner in Obermayer’s Business & Finance Department. Over his many years in practice, he has represented businesses and individuals primarily in Bucks and in Montgomery counties and elsewhere on zoning and land development matters ranging from simple pool and deck variances to large commercial and industrial developments, and mixed-use developments.  

Bill has also represented individuals and companies in various transactional matters involving leasing, sale, and financing, transactions. Bill also has many years of experience representing property owners in tax assessment appeals and in eminent domain matters.

Bill lives in Doylestown Township with his wife, Verlyn. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling to Italy with his wife, reading historical fiction, and watching his favorite teams, the Eagles and Chelsea. He also enjoys Philadelphia Orchestra concerts, especially those featuring pianists. Bill also spends spare time trying to improve his Italian.

Bill began his legal career in the United States Navy, serving in its Judge Advocate General’s Corps. After four years of active service, Bill began his legal career representing both individuals and commercial clients in the field of real estate. As his practice grew, Bill represented clients in a variety of projects including mixed use commercial developments, industrial parks, regional shopping centers, auto dealerships, franchise restaurants, and countless cell towers throughout the Philadelphia suburbs. In addition to his land use experience, Bill has also represented his clients in environmental regulatory matters before the Pennsylvania Environmental Hearing Board.

Bill has designed and presented several Continuing Legal Education seminars sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the National Business Institute, and the Bucks County Bar Association.

Bill has received an AV ® preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, indicating his preeminent legal ability and very high ethical standards. He was also selected for inclusion in the Best of Philadelphia Magazine List in 2019, 2023 and 2024 and the Best of Philadelphia Inquirer List in 2015 and 2020.

During law school, Bill served as a member of the Villanova Law Review. He graduated from the Villanova University School of Law in 1969 with honors and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. 

Bill is an active member of the Bucks County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
