Terry Mutchler Quoted in The Philadelphia Inquirer
Terry Mutchler, who heads Obermayer’s Transparency and Public Data Practice, was quoted in The Philadelphia Inquirer in connection with the delays by the board of the state’s biggest pension fund – the Public School Employees’ Retirement System (PSERS) – in disclosing the results of an internal investigation into the $73 billion plan.
In the article, titled “AG Shapiro and GOP candidates call for pension plan to disclose investigation results,” published on January 19, 2022, Terry, who represents State Sen. Katie Muth (D., Montgomery), stated that she urged the court to order the documents released immediately. The report by an outside law firm was finished two months ago, the pension plan’s board has repeatedly delayed the release of a report on issues under federal investigation.
PSERS provides $6 billion in pensions to 250,000 retired educators yearly. It is supported by its investment profits, taxpayer money, and payments from working teachers.
